CEU faculty, staff and students “run” to support legislature funding

CEU will be participating in a statewide baton relay race from the Nevada border to the state capitol and from the Idaho border to the state capitol on February 17, 18 and 19. All Utah colleges and universities will be participating in the relay to lobby the legislature for allocating more money for higher education, for staff compensation. Inside the baton will be a letter that will be read to the Utah State House of Representatives and Senate. On Feb. 20, representatives from all the colleges and universities will be meeting at the city creek park at 10 a.m. in Salt Lake City where they will finish the relay by walking together to the capitol.
Snow College will bring the baton to CEU’s Jennifer Leavitt Student Center at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.
CEU faculty, staff and students will have the opportunity to carry the baton from the JLSC to the end of Carbonville Road where it will be driven to Utah Valley State College for their faculty, staff and students to participate in.
