Second annual bus tour to visit CEU

Students Serving Utah Network will be kicking off their “Steppin’ It Up” Campaign with a second annual statewide bus tour beginning on Thursday, September 16. The campaign is designed to advance service-learning and also to promote civic engagement, which among other activities includes voting, lobbying and volunteering in the community. Riders on the bus tour will include student body presidents, SUN Center presidents and service representatives from each campus. CEU’s representatives are Daniel Wood, Christine Olsen and Brett Johnson.
The bus will arrive at CEU on Friday, September 17 at 10:10 a.m.. The SUN Center is focusing their rally on voter registration and candidates. Carbon Country Commissioner Michael Milovich will be speaking about the importance and benefits of community service and Carbon County Commissioner candidate Gerald Lloyd will speak about the importance of college-aged students voting and being educated about the candidates and issues. Students will have the chance to ask the speakers questions and then they will also have the opportunity to register to vote.
