ASCEU ID computer stole from JLSC
ASCEU’s student ID computer system came up missing two weeks ago in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center. The ID system also allows students to have discounts in area businesses.
According to ASCEU, two members of ASCEU locked the student ID system in the booth in the JLSC on Feb. 17. The system was stolen over the three-day President’s Day weekend.
ASCEU members noticed the key used to lock equipment in the booth were missing. They think whoever stole the key early this semester or last, is the thief. He/she could have been waiting for an opportunity like this to come along.

According to ASCEU, two members of ASCEU locked the student ID system in the booth in the JLSC on Feb. 17. The system was stolen over the three-day President’s Day weekend.
ASCEU members noticed the key used to lock equipment in the booth were missing. They think whoever stole the key early this semester or last, is the thief. He/she could have been waiting for an opportunity like this to come along.
ASCEU member Jessica Holdaway, executive assistant and in charge of the system, found it missing. Holdaway said, “We would just like it returned so we do not have to press charges against anyone or any suspects. We also want to continue to serve the students”.
ASCEU adviser, Bill Osborn said, “We are offering a $200 reward for any information leading to the recovery of the stolen system.” If they do not get the system back, there will be no more IDs this year until a new system can be purchased. “Student fees will have to go up this year because we have to purchase a new system to replace the system.”
Students who do not have an ID will not be able to get one this year. Every CEU student will feel the impact of this missing system because they will have to pay more in student fees.
The missing system is a Dell Laptop Lattitude 610, with the Avery ID System on it under CEU’s name, also a HP deskjet 450 CBI mobile printer and a quick cam pro 4000 web camera. If you or anyone you know knows anything about these please contact campus police.
