Three women represent CEU’s top students

Three women will serve as the top of College of Eastern Utah’s class of 2006 announced Dr. Michael King, vice president of academic affairs.
Melissa Urry and Lisa Breitenstein will serve as co-valedictorians with Heidi Mecham as salutatorian.
Urry is the daughter of Russ and Jennifer Urry of West Jordan, Utah. She graduated from West Jordan High School with honors in 2004. She is an accomplished violinist and received superior ratings for her performances in both region and state competitions.
She attended CEU on a two-year academic scholarship with a goal of obtaining a degree in nursing. She graduates from the licensed practical nursing program this year and has applied to the registered nursing program. Her career goal is to work as a nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit.
Breitenstein lives in Price with her husband Rick and their two children. She was the 2004-2005 & 2005-2006 psychology student of the year plus a 2005-2006 Utah Governor’s Scholar. She will be attending BYU in the fall to continue her education in psychology. Her educational goal is to complete her education and become a child psychologist. While attending CEU she maintained a 4.0 grade point average while caring for her family and working.
Heidi Maree Mecham is the daughter of George and Gayle Mecham of Carbonville, originally from Elmo. She graduated from Emery High School in 2004 with high honors. She participated in the National Honor Society and track. She excelled in English, receiving the Outstanding Language Arts Student all three years of high school. She has maintained a 3.983 while attending the College of Eastern Utah on a two-year academic scholarship with a degree in criminal justice. She plans to further her education with a degree in law.
