Do you know the way to Santa Fe?

The CEU Art Department recently made their biennial tour of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Thirteen students and four faculty members spent four days traveling and touring the art galleries of Santa Fe and Taos.
The tour was organized by Cliff Bergera and was open to all CEU students. Bergera said of the trip, “As far as I know CEU is the only school in Utah that takes art students to Santa Fe, which I find surprising. Santa Fe is a perfect destination for anyone interested in art. It has about 250 art galleries and is the second largest art market in the United States. There is more art sold in Santa Fe than in Los Angeles. Everything you would expect to see in New York you can see in Santa Fe.”
The trip included a tour of the Georgia O’Keefe museum, a trip to the Shidoni bronze foundry, a glass blowing studio, historic churches in Santa Fe and Taos and a visit to the Rio Grande Gorge.
The experience was rounded out by a rainy stop at a Flea Market near Espanola, just north of Santa Fe. Artworks from all over the world are found at this market.
The trip is organized on alternating years, and is supported by the Art Department as a co-curricular activity.
