Doxey isn’t afraid to call herself a geek

Back for her second year at The College of Eastern Utah, Emily Doxey already loves the volleyball season. “I love the girls, we don’t have any problems this year. We all get along great. Everything is fun, the games, the practices and the traveling.” “We’re doing all right, we have so much potential but sometimes we lose focus. We just need to get back on track.”

Doxey is from Layton, Utah, for her second year of college and is on three scholarships; academic, ASCEU and volleyball. She is enjoying school but “I’m crazy busy out of my mind.” Her favorite class is child abuse. “We learn a lot and sometimes have to cry a little.”
Doxey started playing volleyball the summer before her seventh grade year. Her mom sent her to a volleyball camp and a week later she made the team. “I didn’t even know you could play volleyball indoors. I always thought you could only play it on the beach.”
One of the many things Doxey does for fun is sew. She loves to sew quilts and has made many. She also likes to sew skirts. Last year for Halloween she made her costume, The Hamburgler.
For fun Doxey also plays softball, watches old movies such as Court Jester and does math. ” I am a total geek, I love doing math.” Doxey’s favorite color is blue and she loves all music but her favorite is country. “We listen to a lot of country.”
There are eight people in Doxey’s family. She has one older brother, one younger brother and three younger sisters. Doxey says that she is closest to her little brother Garrett because they are the closest in age. The two love to watch Seinfeld together. “Now that I’m at college, I call my brother every week so that we can watch Seinfeld together over the phone.”
Doxey wanted to add that, “We’re the bomb.com so check us out!”
