Touch of color in BDAC adds to school spirit

Th e BDAC has gotten a much-needed touch of
color in the gym. Th at color comes as part of a new
plan to draw not only students living on campus but
also their non-traditional brethren and members of
the community, as well, to athletic events.

An entire section of bleachers have been painted
a bright blue so there is no more confusion as to
where students should sit and show their support
for CEU.

Rochelle Badback, assistant to Scholarship and
Admissions Office and DEl Beatty, dean of students,
have collaborated in an attempt to increase
the level of student involvement. Bigger universities
already utilize designated student sections. CEU is
following in those footsteps not only in the seating
arrangements but also with the appropriation
of funds for school merchandise which include;
Frisbee’s, mini basketballs, popcorn containers
and water bottles.

Students are encouraged to sit in this section
wearing Scream Team shirts and other school
apparel. No dress code will be enforced but if
you have it, why not wear it? Th e cosmetology
department will be at games to do face painting
both for big and little fans.

When asked about the sudden interest in community
involvement here at CEU, Badback said,
“Its important for the community and students
alike to feel they are welcome at games. Hopefully
everyone in the community will want to start coming
to games and making it a tradition they can
be proud of.”
