Miss CEU 2008

Danielle Tremelling gets a well deserved double win in the Miss CEU Pageant. She won the title Miss CEU and was voted Miss Congeniality by the other contestants. This lady has a devastating melt-your-heart smile. She is the rare woman that is next-door-neighbor cute and has sultry beauty.

Brianna Johnson was the first runner up. Johnson is seriously cute and also has a serious work ethic. It’s easy to see these ladies could get through life using their looks to get what they want. It’s equally easy to see they don’t … they work hard, get good grades and are talented.

Each danced for their talent. Tremelling performed a modern-dance piece combining ballet moves and tumbling. Johnson chose a ballet piece which she executed with grace and skill.

Both ladies were not afraid to show off their bodies … and should not have been. They are in excellent shape and have the muscles and curves to prove it. In every category: swimming suit, casual and evening wear, they chose clothing flattering and appropriate for their bodies.

Tremelling danced to “Stand Still Look Pretty” by The Wreckers which she describes as a way to express the difficulties she has overcome. Her favorite quote: “True art is not seen or heard but felt in the heart” sums up the feeling she was trying to relate through dance. (According to rogerknapp.com Helen Keller said: “The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart”)
As a sophomore attending Freemont High School, Tremelling was part of the drill team which won region. She counts this as one of her best days ever. “We worked hard and won as a team.”

The pageant was “a blast, it’s something I never thought I would do” she said. “It forced me to do things I don’t normally do … like public speaking, it helped me get out of my normal routine. The pageant was beneficial for me even if I hadn’t won,” she continues, “I made new friends and I have more confidence. I was happy to participate … it’s about the journey.”

Tremelling will complete her associates at CEU after fall ’08 and plans on attending the University of Utah to continue her education. She will major in biology and has her sights set on being a genetics counselor. A genetics counselor is a person that explains the genetic elements of a disease to patients and councils them on how best to take care of themselves. It’s also a job that requires a lot of research.

Between drag racing her 1989 Mustang 5.0 in the summer, snowboarding in the winter and continuing her education, Tremelling will find time to compete in the Miss Utah pageant.

Tremelling was quick to acknowledge the support from her parents, her friends and roommates, all the ladies in the pageant, Meesha Stream and DEl Beatty.

Congratulations are in order for all 19 ladies that competed. They each had the guts to get up on that stage and go for it. What’s the line by The Grateful Dead? “Sometimes the cards ain’t worth a damn … if you don’t lay ’em down” these ladies laid the cards down … strutting, singing, playing, dancing, performing, and smiling their way into the hearts of everyone in attendance.
