As the U.S. Presidential Election process continues, the CEU Library employees want students, faculty and staff to know that resources are available to help users gain an intelligent understanding of the candidates and the issues. The library has several books, e-books and electronic scholarly and popular media articles that address each candidate, their history and their position on many issues.
Here are some book titles available in the library for checkout: Living History by Hillary Rodham Clinton, John McCain’s Faith of My Fathers, and Barack Obama’s Family Memoir and Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance. There are several other books on each candidate that include biographical information, political views and opinions.
The CEU Library also has access to hundreds of world-wide newspapers and periodicals. Readers are able to locate recent commentaries, opinions and stories on each candidate, their families and their campaigns. Just a few of the on-line electronic subscriptions include articles and writings from the New York Times, Boston Globe, Washington Post, New Republic, Harpers, Mother Jones, National Review, Newsweek and Time.
Library card holders may utilize the many Internet accessible library computers to view live or recent news broadcasts regarding the Presidential Primaries and other election news programs.
Visit the library to research the issues and the candidates. The CEU Library has placed several books relating to the 2008 presidential campaign on display. You may find this collection near the entrance to the library. If you have any questions, please speak with any library staff.
