Auxiliaries accrue $151,417 deficit in fiscal year 2003-04

College of Eastern Utah’s 2003-2004 preliminary auxiliary’s report showed the Price campus lost a total of $151,417 in housing, food service, bookstore and the student center accounts. The previous year, the four major auxiliary accounts lost $119,13.41, a difference of almost $31,704 more in 03-04 than in 02-03. The report was dated September 20, 2004.
Food service lost the most revenue with a net loss of $73, 845. Its total revenue was $497,978 in 03-04, which was down $36,694 from 02-03. That year food service brought in $534,572 for the same period with a net loss of $167,775.

The food service budget was broken down into snack bar sales, boarding students meals, sales from catering/cafeteria and “other income”.
The snack bar sales were down almost $7,000 in profits from 02-03 to 03-04. The snack bar grossed $29,256 in 02-03 and $22,264 in 03-04.
Boarding student meals were up $20,389 from 02-03 to 03-04. Auxiliaries brought in $230,835 in 02-03 and $251.224 in 03-04.
Catering/cafeteria sales were down $49,737 from 02-03 to 03-04. Auxiliaries brought in $271,034 in 02-03 and $221,297 in 03-04.
The “other income” revenue was also down $255 from 02-03 to 03-04. Revenue dropped from $3,447 to $3,192.
Experiencing the next greatest loss in auxiliaries was housing with a deficit of $67,074 in 03-04. Its revenue was $653,790, up $126,284 from the 02-03 year which had a net loss of $118,977 that year and a revenue of $527,506..
All four residence halls lost revenue with Aaron Jones losing $43,704; Sessions losing $20,906; Tucker $1,982; and Burtenshaw $484.
The student center lost $6,389 in revenue from 02-03 to 03-04. The center brought in $43,901 in 02-03 (lost $668) and $37, 512 in 03-04 (lost $9,782).
The bookstore had the lowest net losses with $716 in the red on revenues of $775,015 in 03-04. The bookstore banked a net income of $43,483 in 02-03 on revenues of $872, 267.
CEU’s San Juan Center auxiliaries were all in the black showing no deficits for 03-04. The budgets had a $1,981 net income on its preliminary housing revenues of $159.831; a $22,509 net income on its food service revenues of $248,705; a $64, 059 net income on bookstore revenues of $165,234; and a $3,200 net income on the student center revenues of $26,158.
