Price City Attorney Nick Sampinos detailed for the Sun Advocate some of the possible crimes that the culprits may be charged with.
“First of all, if they entered the premises unlawfully with the intent to commit a crime then they would be eligible to be charged with felony level burglary,” he explained. “Additionally, if there was more than a certain amount of money in the machine or the cost of the machine itself was over a certain amount the assailants could be looking at a felony level theft charges.”
He also explained that the culprits might be charged with criminal mischief for the damages caused to the college while removing the machine.
Brad King, vice president of institutional advancement, said that there are currently not any cameras in the JLSC, but as part of a campus plan, cameras will be installed during the spring semester.
He said that there are a few persons of interest, but no arrests have been made and that he isn’t anticipating any new information in the near future.
