Earlier in the year Utah took on other in-state rivals, Utah Sate University, as well. They visited Logan on Sept. 13 and absolutely crushed the Aggies 58-10. The Aggies play in the Western Athletic Conference and had a rather poor season this year.
Another rival they beat on their way to the crown as best in the state was Weber State University from Ogden. Though Weber is only a Division-II school, they are ranked in the top 15 in the nation, and will compete for that national championship. The Wildcats from Weber went to Salt Lake on Sept. 27 and were beaten thoroughly by Utah 37-21.
With these victories over in-state foes the University of Utah Runnin’ Utes have no competition as the best football program in the state of Utah for the year 2008.
