Both interns have a master’s in the social work program. In order to receive their license upon graduation, they must practice work under a licensed professional. Thornton says that even though they are students, they are very qualified and both have years of experience.
Skip Henrie is originally from Price. As a graduate of Utah State University in criminal justice, he has worked for Child and Family Services. He has exceptional experience in home foster care. This is his second year in the bachelor’s program and brings a new outlook to the services. Henrie is available Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As a graduate of the University of Utah, Terri Yelonek is in her first year in the master’s of social work program. Yelonek has worked as the director of the women’s shelter in Price for 15-plus years. She brings a professional aspect to woman’s issues and is available Monday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Both interns are thrilled to be a part of USU-CEU. Having three experienced counselors will give students the best possible help they can receive.
