“Life is too short for just one hair color
. . . First thing is get direction, second is lose perfection, third is enjoy the process,” said keynote speaker Connie Sokol.
Sokol is a mother of six, a national presenter, author and internet radio host of Life Change Life. She is regular columnist for the Deseret News and Utah Valley Magazine. Sokol is the former host for Ask a Women for Bonneville Communications and TV host for Standing up.
Sokol claims that if you want to get something done you have to do it yourself. “ Make a life paragraph. Don’t sit around waiting to get all the matching decorations,” she said. “Take a piece of paper, write a few sentences on how you would like to hear yourself described and stick it on your mirror, your wall, anywhere. Just get it up there.”
Sokol gave a workshop earlier in the conference on how to add 26 hours to your week. A message that she shared in both presentations is, “We women think that we have to do it all . . . Each day I make sure I do something for God, myself, my husband, my kids and a random person,” Sokol said. “And it doesn’t have to be all day either, just something quick like I make my kids their favorite snack or don’t get mad at my husband when he does something wrong.”
Sokol finished by asking everyone in attendance to savor their life moments that are most precious to them and not move on to the next project.
