Getting married: from a guy’s prospective

I am getting married. Yep, to the love of my life. I originally thought once you propose the hard part is over, but it’s just ready to begin. I’m not talking about the marriage and the struggles you will face. No, I’m talking about the wedding, the planning and all the emotions.

I am getting married. Yep, to the love of my life. I originally thought once you propose the hard part is over, but it’s just ready to begin. I’m not talking about the marriage and the struggles you will face. No, I’m talking about the wedding, the planning and all the emotions.
Most people think that the guy has nothing to do with the planning, but they are mistaken. You are not just the groom, but a mediator and the coach. Planning a wedding should be a fun and exciting event, for the most part it is. There are those times when you feel overwhelmed, but you just have to keep pushing on. In my engagement, it feels as if I am the one who has to regulate people; reminding them that this isn’t about them, it’s about what the bride wants. All the decision making and the planning is difficult to deal with. All the yes and no answers. All the compromising that has to be done, it almost makes you want to elope; and get married in Las Vegas. You just have to tell yourself that it will be over soon.
When getting married, you go through a lot of emotions such as: excitement, happiness and even doubt. You are excited to spend the rest of your life with a woman whom you love and care for. You’re also excited to think of starting a family of your own. You are so happy already being with her, that this just feels right and how it should be. But you also have those doubts. Doubts like maybe you aren’t ready, maybe this isn’t the right time and if you want to be tied down. Nobody is ready to get married. Nothing can prepare you for it. If you have already been in a committed relationship for so long that now you’re getting married,I think you’re as ready as you will ever be. You have already been tied down for a while, but now you will officially tied down now.
Marriage is a beautiful thing. In any marriage there will be struggles and hardships, but getting through that is what makes a marriage strong. Once again, no one really knows when they are ready and if it’s the right thing to do at that time; you just have to go with your gut and stick with it. I can’t wait to be married and start my life. It will be a fun and an exciting step. I hope that when people decide to get married, they think about it and decide that is truly what they want for them.
