A two-car collision on Friday, Jan. 9, in Price Canyon involved two USU Eastern students whose car was hit head on by a light pickup truck.
Sheldon and Kiana Hamblin were driving westbound at mile marker 226 on U.S. 6 about 6 p.m. The pickup truck swiped an 18-wheeler and crossed over into Hamblin’s lane, hitting their late model sedan head on. Both vehicles were totaled, said Sergeant Nelson of the Utah Highway Patrol.
All occupants of the vehicles were taken to the Castleview Hospital. The Hamblins were released later that night with several cuts and abrasions. Kiana, who is pregnant, lost her 16-week unborn baby.
They are from Roosevelt, Utah.
