Annual Day of Caring can make change in the community
If you want to see a change in this community, the United Way’s Day of Caring is one of the best way to make it happen.
On Saturday Sept. 10, USU Eastern students, faculty and staff plus members of the local community will donate time to United Ways Day of Caring to help with over 50 projects in the area. The Day of Caring is a national service day offered throughout with the United States with the local event hosted by United Way of Eastern Utah.
Team members meet with the volunteers at 7 a.m. in the Lin’s Market parking lot where they are told about the different projects and can decide what project they want to complete. Volunteers are split into groups to work at the project sites. Lin’s provides juice and donuts for all the volunteers.
After all the service is over, everyone meets at the Washington Park on 300 East and 500 north for lunch. USU Eastern SUN Center will be taking students to the event as well as Eastern’s cosmetology department who will be offering free haircuts to anyone from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the McDonald Career Center.
