Meet “Koel” Cutler, USUE’s new guard

A transfer athlete from Northwest College hopes to bring his athleticism to Eastern as he seeks a region championship
Mikoel Alexander Cutler, otherwise known as “Koel,” was born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He has played basketball seriously since he was in eighth grade and has now become a passion of his. 
He went to Socastee High School in South Carolina where he performed well. One of his greatest games was against the best team in South Carolina where he scored 40 points and the defender that he was scoring on is now playing at the University of Texas. 
The six-foot-four-inch guard is a pure shooter and because of his shooting ability, can pump fake getting defenders off balance in driving to the basket. He is also a vocal leader on the court bringing an energy that is needed at all times.
He spent two years at Northwest College in  Wyoming where he played on a title-contending team, after and injury the following year, he received a medical redshirt until he transferred to USU Eastern in August 2016
He brought his talents to USU Eastern where he knew, “it would be the best place . . . to succeed have fun and win.” Cutler also is focusing on his general studies, someday hoping to have a professional career in basketball at some level.
His goals this year is to “be an All-American and All-Region player and receive a Division 1 [basketball scholarship].” Ultimately his goal has been in line with the team as well, “My hopes for this year as a team [are] to make the national tournament and win a national championship.”
