Leadership Opportunities at Utah State University Eastern

There are six leadership groups on campus that students can apply for and each of the groups have multiple openings. The six groups include: Aggies Elevated, Ambassadors, Campus Recreation, Peer Mentors, Resident Advisors and USU Student Association. 

On March 23 and 24 there will be the second round of interviews for Utah State Eastern leadership. There are six leadership groups on campus that students can apply for and each of the groups have multiple openings. The six groups include: Aggies Elevated, Ambassadors, Campus Recreation, Peer Mentors, Resident Advisors and USU Student Association. 

Aggies Elevated peer mentors work with assigned students to help them set personal, academic and career goals while monitoring their progress to help them develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals. In order to be a peer mentor for Aggies Elevated you must be a current USU Eastern student in good academic standing. The award amount for this position is up to $4,356 yearly. 

Ambassadors at the USUE campus focus on leadership and service while representing USU Eastern. They also aid the university with their recruitment efforts. In order to get this scholarship you must be a first time student and have a 3.5 GPA. The award amount for this leadership position is 100% tuition and student fees for up to 4 years. 

Campus Recreation Leadership focuses on providing outdoor recreation and adventures for all USU Eastern students. The only requirement for this position is to have a 2.5 GPA. The award amount is 100% meal plan and $800 towards housing. 

Peer Mentors on the Eastern campus assist students and mentor them through their college experience. The requirements for this position include maintaining a 3.0 GPA and enrolling in at least 12 credits. The award amount for this position is up to $3,740 yearly and $20 monthly. 

Resident Advisors is a 9-month contracted live-in position with primary responsibilities in housing and helping with all on campus residents. The requirements for this position include maintaining a 2.75 college GPA and enrolling in at least 12 credits. The award amount for this scholarship is 100% housing and meal plan expenses and a monthly stipend. 

The USU Student Association fulfills a role similar to student government in high school. There are positions open in diversity, service, public relations, athletics, traditions, event coordination, non-traditional, alumni and more. The requirements for this position include maintaining a 2.7 GPA and registering for 12 credit hours per semester. The award amount for this position is up to $4,400 yearly. 

At the leadership summit on March 23 and 24 students will be participating in multiple activities in order to show off their leadership skills. Students will also be doing an eight to ten minute long interview for each of the positions that they are interested in.
