Women’s soccer earn tie with Snow

The Utah State University Eastern women’s soccer team played Snow College on Sept. 16. In a thrilling game that ended in a 1-1 tie, the Eagles defense was at the top of their game.

Snow couldn’t score on the Eagles. There were four yellow cards three coming from The Badgers. USU Eastern had nine shots on the goal, only getting one in goal. The Badgers had 15 total shots on the goal, the only goal being the equalizer. Loryn Stoddard scored the lone Eastern goal on a ball assisted by Andie Andrus. The goal was Loryn’s third of the season.

The Eagles were handed their first loss of the season against Salt Lake Community College.

The Eagles stuck first in this game taking a 1-0 lead late in the game when Sailor Jensen scored just after the 49th minute.  

SLCC scored two unanswered points to steal a 2-1 victory from the Eagles. A tough loss on the road for the Eagles.

USU Eastern bounced back against Colorado Northwestern Community College. Sailor Jensen recorded her third goal of the season as Abigail Wiggins scored two. Lauren Maxfield scored the fourth goal of the match for Eastern as the Eagles dominated in a 4-1 win.

The Eagles will next take on the Truckee Meadows Lizards as the second half of the season begins. Eastern will host the Lizards, on Oct. 5, before hosting the Gladiators of Pacific Northwest Christian College on Oct. 7.
