Grey’s Anatomy season 20 predictions

Season 20 of Grey’s Anatomy season 20 will premiere on Mar. 14. In Episode 20 of Season 19 we see what Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, has been working on in Boston. She makes a discovery that she does not trust what is being published about Alzhemiers. She reveals this to a group of doctors that were at the Harper Avery Award Ceremony as well as her friends from Seattle. 

   We also see Atticus Lincoln (Link), played by Chris Carmack, and Jo Wilson, played by Camilla Luddington, finally confess their love together. As did Grey and her latest love interest Nick Marsh, played by Scott Speedman. As a married couple back at the hospital Owen Hunt, played by Kevin McKidd, and Teddy Altman, played by Kim Raver, are both performing surgeries until Altman collapses. The episode ends with Hunt rushing to Altman as she is laying on the floor of the O.R. 

   There has been a great number of predictions for what will happen in the upcoming season. I have not heard a prediction that I believe yet. The most popular prediction I have heard is that Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey, faked his death due to him working for the government. I do not think this is true seeing as we watched him get hurt and watched him save the life of the family. We also see the younger girl from the accident identify Shepard. This makes it kind of hard to play it off like it was faked. Although I did really like Dempsey’s character so if somehow they brought him back as a consistent character I would be thrilled. 

   Few fans believe that Altman will die in the beginning episodes of the new season. I however cannot believe this one either. Throughout the episode we hear that Altman has a really bad toothache. I am assuming she has endocarditis from the infection of the tooth spreading to her heart. A lot of Grey’s fans are predicting she has an extremely rare heart disease and that the storyline of her heart disease writes itself as she is a famous cardiothoracic surgeon. Surprisingly, a lot of fans hate Altman, but even more surprisingly, they hate Hunt even more. Seeing as the last episode of the season ended with Altman on the floor of the operation room, tells me that she is probably fine and the story will continue in the next season. 

   The interns are all returning from what I know and the storylines we already have will probably just continue. They will most likely all be involved with each other romantically which will become more prominent as the relationships in the main interns did their intern year.

   Pompeo has stated that she will only be in the new season occasionally. Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner, has stated that she will not be returning at all. Kelly McCreary who plays Maggie Pierce will also not be returning.
