Major League Baseball season preview
As the Major League Baseball Spring training came to close, we could see who was going to be on top. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, and Baltimore Orioles were named as favorites this year to win the World Series.
The first games of Opening day actually occurred in Korea for the first time in MLB history between the San Diego Padres and the Dodgers. Opening Day came and went, the first game of the year, on American soil, was between the Orioles and the Los Angeles Angels. The first home run of the year came when Angles outfielder Mike Trout blasted one over the fence in left center. Unfortunately, the Angels ended up losing the first game of the year as Corbin Burnes stuck out 11 to shut down the Angels, 7-1.
Other teams that won on Opening Day were, the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Cleveland Guardians, Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The year has just begun and there are new teams that are going to make things interesting come playoff time. There are great prospects that are coming up who are going to make great impacts for their squads and make the runs for Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year very exciting to watch.
The teams in the league with best talent are the American League Central, and the National League West. The MVP race is going to be between Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Mookie Betts.
