Games, crafts, and vibes, another week at USU Eastern as September ends

This week of September at Utah State University Eastern was full of creativity and opportunities to connect.
From gaming tournaments and craft nights to the community celebration in Helper, students had a week’s worth of time to unwind, hang with friends, and enjoy their fall semester.
The first event of the week was Nexus Nirvana on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Upstairs in the Student Center, the Nexus was filled with competition and fun. Some participants chose to compete in tournament rounds of Mario Kart, while others opted for pool and ping pong. Winners walked away with prizes including Mario Legos, Beats headphones, and speakers. Although not everyone could win big, all attendees got the reward of time to relax and connect with friends in the lively atmosphere.
The following evening, Wednesday, Sept. 24, the Student Center was transformed into a creative hub for Pocket Pals. Students gathered at 6 p.m. to design tiny tin homes, made from Altoids containers, to serve as homes for resin animals. This activity really encouraged focus and fun, not just creativity. The relaxed environment welcomed art, sharing ideas, and meeting new friends.
The week wrapped up in a way that was a bit different from ordinary. USU Eastern hosted a weekend activity. They played host to the last Helper Vibes event of the season on Friday, Sept. 27. From 5 p.m. to 10:30 P.M., students headed to the vintage city of Helper for a night of USU Eastern-themed fun. The event featured its regular lineup of live music, food, vendors, and games, but had an Eagle twist. Activities included playing cornhole with Eastern Athletics and visiting several alumni and department booths. Students were invited, but the event really brought the campus to the community by showing what is offered and that they know how to have a good time.
From gaming and crafts to community and collaboration, the campus continued to highlight our student life here at USU Eastern. Students had the opportunity to try new things, make lasting connections, and enjoy everything the campus and surrounding areas have to offer.
Thanks to this week’s events, students left the week with fun memories, new friends, and a refreshing sense of community.
