Eagles win two of three on homestand

These past few weeks, Utah State University Eastern’s Women’s Volleyball team has had its first three home games. The first game played was against Snow College on Saturday, October 4.

The Eagles fought hard and played a close game, winning one of four sets. The second game was Friday, Oct. 10, against The College of Southern Idaho. The Eagles crushed their competition, winning three out of three sets.

The third game was Saturday, October 11, against North Idaho College. The Eagles defeated their opponent, winning three out of four sets.

The home opener was an exciting game. The Badgers took the first set 25-23. The Eagles then came back strong to win the second set 25-22. The third set began with the Eagles dominating until the end, but the Badgers came back to win it 25-21. The final set started similarly, ending with a score of 25-20 in the Badgers’ favor. Emilia Zug, led the Eagles in kills with a total of 13.

The second home game of the season was an excellent game, pitting the Eagles against the Golden Eagles. The Eagles took the first set with a score of 25-22. Carrying all the momentum into the second set, the Eagles crushed it with a score of 25-13. The Eagles continued their demolition of the Golden Eagles in the final set, coming to a score of 25-22. Audrey Atwood led the Eagles in kills with a total of 17.

The third home game of the season saw the Eagles take victory over the Cardinals. In the first set, the Cardinals played a strong game, securing a 25-18 win. The Eagles then came back to win the second and third sets, both with a score of 25-18. The Eagles then dominated the final set with a score of 25-13. Audrey Atwood and Agata Zwierzynska lead the Eagles in kills with 11 each.

The next home game is on Halloween, Friday, October 31. Support the USUE Volleyball team as they face off with Colorado Northwestern Community College.
