The Art 1050 photography class at USU Eastern is combining spooky thrills with creative filmmaking just in time for Halloween.

Thursday, October 30, at 10:00 am, they will show their short film ‘Tourist Trap’ at the Rio Theatre in Helper.

“For this class, we have an assignment called ‘Film Noir’ where we look at how black and white photography and film can be used as a means to create drama and psychological tension,” said instructor Jason Huntzinger. “We usually create mock horror movie posters as part of the assignment. This class is very talented and they are a lot of fun, so I thought, why not create our own film and make posters for it? They were up to the challenge.”

The 15-minute film is free and open to the public, and students are encouraged to attend. The Rio Theatre is located at 210 South Main Street in Helper.
