Favorite Halloween movie: Scream!
Favorite Halloween candy: York Peppermint Patty.
Favorite Halloween costume: Red Rum twins from ‘The Shining’ with my twin sister.
My all-time favorite Halloween and scary movie is Scream! I even like all the cheesy sequels. I am not the biggest fan of sweets, but during spooky season, you’ll probably find me enjoying a York peppermint patty, pumpkin-shaped, of course. My favorite childhood costume is when my twin sister and I dressed up as the “Red Rum” twins from The Shining.
Halloween has always been a mix of excitement and nostalgia for me. I love seeing the creativity that goes into costumes and decorations, especially when people come up with something niche. The atmosphere feels different from any other time of year. Some of my fondest memories are from Halloween. I love all the movies and pumpkin carving. However, I’ve never been a massive fan of the overly gory side of Halloween. I prefer the fun and cozy parts instead.

Favorite Halloween movie: Hereditary.
Favorite Halloween candy: Candy Corn Pumpkins.
Favorite Halloween costume: Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.
Growing up, my mom was obsessed with Halloween, so I took a liking to it from a young age. We set up an entire interactive display every year in our yard, and the theme changes each year. Last year, the theme was killer clowns, and the year before that was creepy baby dolls. This year, we are doing a disco club theme, which is more light-hearted rather than scary. This has always been a way to spend time with my family and scare the pants off some little kids. I think that it would be super cool to work at a haunted house one day as a scare actor, which might tell you a little about myself. Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays due to the traditions, environment, and the social acceptability to jump out at random people wearing a Freddy Krueger mask.

Marchus Crosland
Favorite Halloween movie: Sinister.
Favorite Halloween candy: Twix.
Favorite Halloween costume: Kylo Ren.
I like Halloween for the candy and for seeing the cool, creative costumes. I also like the vibes and the aesthetics of the season, the combination of the dreary weather and spooky decorations like cobwebs and gravestones. I don’t dress up anymore, so the holiday isn’t the same, but I still enjoy it for the most part. I dislike the commercialization of the day. I always think homemade costumes are more interesting. However, that detail doesn’t stop me from appreciating the holiday as a whole.

Cambria Thurgood
Favorite Halloween movie: Lights Out.
Favorite Halloween candy: Pumpkin Reese’s or Candy Corn.
Favorite Halloween costume: Candy Corn.
Halloween is my favorite holiday. Dressing up is always fun, but my favorite part of Halloween is going to haunted houses and haunted corn mazes. If you ever have a chance and want to go, I highly recommend going through the haunted corn maze at Black Island Farms in Syracuse, Utah, or heading over to Fear Factory in Salt Lake, or Haunted Hollow in Ogden. While haunted houses and corn mazes are my favorite part of the holiday, I also love carving pumpkins, watching Halloween movies, and enjoying the fall weather wrapped up in blankets and hoodies.

Ally Robertson
Favorite Halloween movie: Halloweentown Series.
Favorite Halloween candy: Kit Kat.
Favorite Halloween costume: Purple Crayon.
It is crazy to think that Halloween is just around the corner! My perspective on Halloween has changed since I was little. When I was younger, I hated Halloween! As I have gotten older, I enjoy Halloween more: dressing up, handing out candy, and the season in general has made me fall in love with the holiday even more. I hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!

Hailey Stoner
Favorite Halloween movie: Death Becomes Her.
Favorite Halloween candy: Snickers.
Favorite Halloween costume: Pippi Longstocking.
What I like about Halloween: I loooove Halloween. It is my favorite holiday by far. I always loved dressing up as a kid, and I still do now. I always plan my costume two months in advance. It’s one last fun night before winter!

Mahmoud Ghabayen
Favorite Halloween movie: Coraline.
Favorite Halloween candy: DOTS Underrated as heck!
Favorite Halloween costume: Dressing up as Ice Spice with an awful orange wig.
My favorite thing about October and Halloween is the weather we get in town. All the leaves on the trees are incredible, especially when driving through the canyon. My least favorite part of Halloween is how expensive things can get, especially when I want nicer costumes or spend more on holiday-related decor. It is still undoubtedly my favorite time of year; everything comes together nicely.

Nora Maher
Favorite Halloween movie: Probably Hotel Transylvania. I don’t rock with scary movies, haha.
Favorite Halloween candy: Reese’s Take 5.
Favorite Halloween costume: Ghostbuster.
I actually really don’t love Halloween. I love the fall weather and the leaves falling, but I absolutely hate being scared. I don’t like feeling my stomach drop or not knowing what is coming next. I don’t like haunted houses, I don’t really like scary movies, and dressing up isn’t my favorite thing in the world. In my opinion, fall can stick around, but we can move right on past Halloween.

Levi Lips
Favorite Halloween movie: not really scary, but Harry Potter.
Favorite Halloween candy: Kit Kat.
Favorite Halloween costume: Mike Wazowski.
I like Halloween, but it isn’t my favorite holiday. It is fun to spend time with people you enjoy. The Howl event is incredible, which is in Logan on Halloween this year. I also like the fall season, and they both go together. However, I am too old to trick-or-treat compared to when I was in high school. I do like it in a lot of ways, and the costumes are fabulous. I like fall, though, better than the specific holiday of Halloween.

Mikey Bishop
Favorite Halloween movie: Smile.
Favorite Halloween candy: Starbursts.
Favorite Halloween costume: Any New England Patriot player.
Growing up, Halloween was always a fun time for me as I looked forward to getting a bunch of candy, but I hated, and I mean hated, the decorations and scary side of it. Haunted corn mazes terrified me, haunted houses terrified me, and I felt like these went hand-in-hand with the holiday. If anything made me dislike Halloween, it was all the creepy decorations, haunted houses, and jump scares. However, I obviously loved the plethora of candy I got to eat each year.

Jen Cefalo
Favorite Halloween movie: Heretic.
Favorite Halloween candy: The Skull and Bones Sweetarts.
Favorite Halloween costume: A Witch:
Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the food associated with it. Pumpkin pie and pumpkin-spiced lattes are my absolute favorites. The weather around Halloween is also a big plus for the holiday —neither too hot nor too cold. My favorite thing to do around Halloween is scary corn mazes.
