USU Eastern soccer seasons end with losses in conference tournament
This past week, both of Utah State University Eastern’s soccer teams lost in the SWAC semifinals. These losses mark the end of the 2025 soccer season here at USUE.
Both teams faced Snow College, with the men’s team losing 4-1 and the women’s team losing 1-0. Both teams played an excellent match.
In the men’s match, the USUE team competed with the No. 1-seeded Snow College team. USUE started off strong with a speedy goal by Brody Stanton. This gave them a lead early in the first half. Unfortunately, Snow College came through and took the win.
The USUE men’s soccer team has had a great season, with Owen Gaisford netting 12 goals this season and Leandro Robles with eight goals of his own.
In the women’s match against Snow College, it was a bitter battle to the end. The only goal scored that game was at the very end of the match in overtime. Unfortunately for USUE that goal was Snow College’s. The women’s team also had an excellent season, with Paisley Ashworth getting 11 goals total and Emmalee Christensen netting five of her own.
