Spring semester is off to a lively start at USU Eastern. Students are already enjoying bingo, movie nights, and a silent disco. Exciting events continue into the next weeks, including Dream & Snack, Krafting with Kaylee, and a Cornhole tournament.

The semester began Monday, Jan. 5, with Eastern Aggies Lunar Luck Bingo in the Multipurpose Room (MPR). Students celebrated the lunar new year a bit early with prizes ranging from Legos to a HydroJug, and even a Roku TV. The year of the horse is sure to bring lots of luck to all, not just those who won prizes.

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, students competed in a fun game of USU Family Feud at 9 p.m. in the MPR, following men’s and women’s basketball games against the Colorado Northwest Community College at home. Laughter and cheering filled the court and the game show stage that night.

Wednesday, Jan. 7, was the Heels vs. Heroes movie night at the King Koal Theatre. Students chose between two movies, Barbie or Batman. Thursday, Jan. 8, both of our Eagle basketball teams hit the road to play Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. Meanwhile, the students at home danced the night away at the Midnight Silent Disco in the MPR. Headphones were on, and worries were off.

Looking ahead, students can share their dreams and grab a free snack at Dream & Snack on Tuesday, Jan. 13, during lunchtime in the Student Center.

Wednesday, Jan. 14, Krafting with Kaylee continues into the new year, offering a creative break with picture frame decorating in the Nexus at 6 p.m. This event is hosted by the Utah State University Student Association’s Eastern Student Advocate, Kaylee Mayne.

The following week, the Eastern Games Cornhole Tournament will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m., pitting faculty and students against each other in another tough competition. Students interested in participating can sign up by emailing Allie Chamberlain at [email protected].

The same evening, the Elmo Theater Club will be presenting its final performance of Ride the Cyclone. This will be in the Geary Events Center at 7:30 p.m. The show will go on tour soon, and this is the last opportunity for students to see the show for free. The club promises a night not to be missed.

From games and crafts to tournaments and movie nights, USU Eastern offers all students, returning and new, ways to make the new semester fun, fresh, and unforgettable.
