Eagles and Aggies are ready for spring break
When many of us think about college students on spring break, we think about beaches, parties and roadtrips. But, what are Utah State University students doing for their spring break? I asked students from USU Eastern and USU’s Logan campus what they plan to do this spring break.
Katelyn Simmons, a student from the Logan Campus, fits perfectly into the stereotypical spring break trip. She is going on a cruise to Mexico with seven of her friends and she is excited to enjoy the warm weather and have a break from class.
“I’m going to St Louis with the hockey club,” said Addi Bovee, who is a social media intern for the USU hockey club.
Another USU student who is traveling out of state is Josh Grunig. He and his fiancée are taking a road trip to Colorado to visit her family.
Not all students are traveling; some are having a more low-key break or even using this time to work or complete projects.
“I am planning to spend time with my boyfriend, as many friends as possible, and take some time for myself. It is hard to come by time like that!” said Tabitha Ericson from USU Eastern.
Another student from USU Eastern, Trent Handy. When asked what he was doing for spring break? Humorously responded with “I’m unfortunately broke and boring, so I’m just going home with my parents“
“I’m planning on working at the USU Campus Store, getting a haircut and then probably going to take my younger brothers to do something.” said Alexia Protaizer, a student employee at the USU campus store Sam Clements, another employee at the campus stone simply replied with “I’m gonna work.”
“I plan on completing my Certified Solid Works Professional certification and the Surfacing certification for SolidWorks,“ said John Coker, a Technology Systems student on the Logan campus.
As for my plans for spring break, they aren’t very exciting. I plan to work on my capstone project so I can graduate this semester.
Whether or not students are going somewhere new or working. It’s a well-deserved break.
