Students charged for damage
If students inflict damage in their dorm rooms, they are charged individually, but if damage is done to a common area such as a hall or entryway, everyone in the hall has to be charged if the culprit cannot be found.
The most damage seems to be in Aaron Jones and Burtenshaw residence halls. Less damage occurs in Tucker and Sessions halls because, according to Sharon Jones, former hall director of the two halls, it is more difficult to damage common areas there. The walls of these halls are made of cinderblock. Also, Tucker has very little common area to speak of.

“There is no question Burtenshaw is the worst.Last year there was a person-sized hole in the wall,” said Donald McCarty. “Last year Burtenshaw had a lot of disrespectful baseball players who put holes in the walls just because they could.”
In the fall of 2004 CEU instituted a minimum charge policy of $5. Last fall, each Burtenshaw and AJ residents were charged for damages. There was $2.68 in damage at AJ and $2.60 in Burtensha. In the fall of 2004, Sessions residents were also charged $5.
In the 2001-2002 school year Sessions residents were charged $4.18 per resident, $1 was charged to Burtenshaw residents and $2 to those living in AJ.
In 2000-2001 the AJ residents were charged $3.30 in the fall and $2.50 in the spring.
