A tall, athletic outside setter from Jordan High School serves as one of the four returning sophomore’s for the 2006 Golden Eagle volleyball team.
Heather McFarland is in her second year at CEU. Originally from Sandy, Utah, McFarland attended Jordan High School where she played softball and volleyball for the Beetdiggers. She’s undecided about her major at CEU because she does not plan to grow up.
She comes from a small family with an 11-year-old sister still at home. McFarland chose to come to CEU because of the athletic scholarship she was offered. “It was the best scholarship I was offered.” She felt CEU offered the best athletic program of the schools that she had been offered scholarships to play volleyball.
She is confident that this year’s volleyball team should do better than last year’s team. “I think we will do really well this year, a lot better than last year.”
She likes CEU. This summer she missed CEU a lot and did not feel she would like it as much as she does.
In her spare time she enjoys hanging out at Burtenshaw Residence Hall and having sweet karaoke parties, as well as wakeboarding, and long boarding.
She prefers dogs over cats. “I pick up stray dogs like it’s my business” McFarland added. She would prefer flowers over chocolate any day. “I hate chocolate, hate, hate, hate.”
Her favorite color is sort of a turquoise bluish hue. This happens to be the color of her eyes.
Her hobbies center around volleyball, “Probably being a beach volleyball champ with my friend Marin. She added, “My favorite classes would have to be any with Marin.”
She enjoys listening to country music from artists like, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Toby Keith.
She wanted everyone to know that she is in a serious relationship with Brett Favre from the Green Bay Packers.
Don’t forget to come and support the women’s volleyball team at their home games,” added McFarland.
