Student leaders get involved

The Associated Students of the College of Eastern Utah plan to bring a better communication between ASCEU, students and faculty by executing plans established through individual committees.
ASCEU plans to pump up communication by setting each member to have office hours so that anyone from the faculty or student body may meet with us. The office hours will be posted on the office door window, which is on the second floor of the JLSC, and describes what hour the representative will be there and which representative it will be.

ASCEU plans to pump up communication by setting each member to have office hours so that anyone from the faculty or student body may meet with us. The office hours will be posted on the office door window, which is on the second floor of the JLSC, and describes what hour the representative will be there and which representative it will be.
Students may come with any issue they may need help with: activity planning, campus issues, administration issues, or even personal issues. The office will be open 20 hours a week.
One of ASCEU’s primary goals in September is to get students to vote. ASCEU will be leading events and advertising this as “the BIG PUSH”. This “Big Push” also involves high school seniors that are 18 or older, and is a competition between other high education schools in the state.
Individual departments of ASCEU also have a focus and a goal for the 06-07 school year.
Student life council is drafting a publicity policy throughout campus to organize advertisement to make a more fair, and less littered advertising environment. The plan is pending, but the council hopes to establish a plan of action by the end of September, beginning of October.
The council set a goal of 22 clubs on campus for this school year and has ended up with 39. The number of registered clubs is still growing, and estimated club number this school year will be around 40.
Each club is assigned a Wednesday night activity in which the assigned club will complete. All Wednesday nights these semesters are taken, and there will be a club activity every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Check the listing at the ASCEU booth or the office.
Club presidents must also meet the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. to receive sponsorship from CEU. If the president cannot attend, one other leader must be present.
Clubs must also complete at least one-service project in which most of their members participate.
With high attendance at ASCEU’s activities, the activity council is discussing what steps they can take to make activities even more successful, many events are taking place over the coming moths of the fall semester, check the booth for the listings.
The ASCEU booth, which is located next to the cafeteria in the students center, is open from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Friday; 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon on Friday. Any feedback would be appreciated so we can help make this a memorable year with the least stress possible.
