Social, behavioral science senator
Hi, my name is Ryan Leonard and am the social and behavioral science senator. In 2005 I graduated from Carbon High School where I played football, wrestled and competed in track and field. From there I attended SUU for my freshman year, where I also played on their football team. I transferred to CEU in the fall of 2006 to finish my associate’s degree. After CEU I plan to travel north to USU where I will get my bachelor of science degree in fisheries and aquatic sciences and minor in criminal justice.

During my time as a senator for ASCEU there are a few goals that I have set for myself to achieve. First, I would like to get more students interested in the great classes that are offered throughout the social and behavioral science departments. Second, I would like to help increase the enrollment within my department and also at CEU in general.
On Nov. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m. the English, languages, history and philosophy departments are holding an open house on the second floor of the CBB.
The main purpose of the open house is to let students know what humanities are all about. During the open house, students will be able to stop and chat with the different humanities professors about a class that he or she might be interested in.
There will be sample syllabi and exemplary student works from past classes available for the students to take and look through. The students may also pick up a copy of the Nighthawk review, an annual publication of CEU student work.
There are going to be many different activities the students can participate in, including showings of classic movies and a free box of popcorn by the English Department, a fast-paced game of loteria, a Mexican version of Bingo lead by Steve Nelsen, and Jennifer Truschka will be handing out treats from the medieval times. There will also be door prizes and plenty of cookies to go around.
