Last will and testament of Eagle staff member
K, kids, here we are, This is my last will and testament. For those of you who don’t know who I am exactly, I’m the girl with short brown hair, alternating between straight and curly, who works – or lives, according to some – at the campus bookstore.
I have been attending CEU since fall 2005. You may be wondering why it took me so long to finally be graduating, here’s the reason: I started attending as a sophomore in high school.

I have been attending CEU since fall 2005. You may be wondering why it took me so long to finally be graduating, here’s the reason: I started attending as a sophomore in high school.
For the first year of taking classes, I would sit off to the side, by myself, never speaking to anyone. At the end of spring semester, I began working at the bookstore. I was still quiet, but becoming slightly more sociable. Fall rolled around again, and I began taking more classes and working more hours. This enabled me to become more familiar with the people on campus. I also chopped off my waist-length hair to donate to Locks of Love. By spring, I had become comfortable with the faculty and staff, and was even making a few friends with my fellow students. I really began to blossom when fall 2007 began. I was a veteran of the bookstore and was ready to take on more classes. I was actually working three part time jobs during this semester, and was becoming more involved on campus as well. By the time spring semester began, I was well known, and felt confident about my every move. At the beginning of spring, flyers went up announcing the return of the Miss CEU pageant. I was skeptical when my dad (Terry Johnson Associate Director of HS/Prospective Student Relations) suggested I go for it. However, it was one of the best things I could have ever done this semester. It was SO much fun! I never dreamed I would enjoy doing something so … girlie, as I did doing that awesome pageant. I was first attendant and Miss Photogenic- the title I had secretly hoped for. After the pageant was over, I continued to enjoy my self-confidence and opportunities to meet new people.
I also began writing for this wonderful paper during spring semester. I only picked up Newspaper Production for an extra 3 credits, and it was the other best thing I did this semester. I met Susan Polster-a woman I want to grow up and be, because of her fun and vibrant personality, intelligence, and sense of humor. What I guess I’m trying to say is that I have enjoyed my time here at CEU and will remember the many different people I have met and befriended while attending. I believe that through the opportunity given to me to take concurrent enrollment classes, I have grown and matured in ways that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. I am excited for graduation, but am sad that I am leaving such great staff and faculty members. I am moving on to SUU where I will be an Ambassador, and look forward to Transfer Days when I can be back on campus.
