CEU Dance Ensemble concert opens Dec. 4

College of Eastern Utah’s Dance Ensemble opens their first Seasons Greeting’s production on Dec. 4-6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Geary Theatre showcasing the college choir, Eagle Dancers and themselves.
Offering 10 holiday numbers ranging from ballet to modern, the Ensemble will perform pieces to Frosti, choreographed by Melissa Anast; Waltz of the Flowers, choreographed by Kristin Unsworth and Anast; Winter, choreographed by Julia Tatton; God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman, choreographed by Rachel Allen and Anast; Santa Baby, Silent Night and Carol of the Bells, all choreographed by Anast.

Soloists for Ensemble include Danielle Tremelling, Jessica Gee and Whitney Ison. Other dancers include Meshia Wagner, Alexis Yelonek, Desiree Dimick, Miriam Gileadi, Haley McCracken, Trisha Munns, Tia Rhodes, Leslie Clark and Amy Devitt.
The choir, under the direction of Russell Wilson, will perform two holiday numbers while the Eagle Dancers will perform a routine to Jingle Bell Rock. Members of the Dancers include McCracken, Tremelling, Savannah Winn, Michelle Dickey, April Burkley, Mallorie Mason, Bobbie Campbell and April Martinez.
Anast has spent the past semester working on the concert and said, “I am very grateful for the hard work and support of everyone involved. It’s fun to see all the elements come together.” She added that student art work will be displaying in the theatre lobby as patrons enter the theatre.
Costumes for the concert were created by Diana Root with the theater artistic director responsibilities handled by Grady McEvoy.
Cost to attend the concert is $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and non-CEU students, $3 for CEU faculty and staff and $2 for CEU students.
