Always make the most of things

Nick Thompson has the rare ability to make the most of every situation. On and off the court, Thompson is a hard worker and always has a smile on his face. He is one of those rare players that can play almost every position on the court and will do so with vigor and intensity. Although he is vertically blessed, standing at 6-feet 9-inches tall, which makes him perfect for the inside game, he can play outside as well. Thompson exclaimed that he enjoys playing the three positions the most because he can be out on the perimeter. He has proven many times that he can be very dangerous on the outside with his great jump shot and fantastic passing abilities.
Thompson was born in Oklahoma and lived in six different places in his life. He says he learned to appreciate and like everywhere he has lived. This shows that he can find the good in every situation and every place. Thompson graduated from Clearfield High school before joining the CEU basketball team. He is also very close to his family. Thompson has one little brother and one little sister. Though he has twelve tattoos, his favorite tattoos are the names of his family written across his collar bone.
Thompson can be found hanging out with his teammates on any given day. “I like to chill; I love my team,” Thompson said, “and I love hanging out with them.” He is always the first one to help any of his teammates if they need him. They have a lot of respect for him on and off the court.
English is his favorite subject in school. He explained that, “I don’t mind writing papers.” His least favorite subject in school is math.
Music is a big part of his life and he can be seen around campus with earphones in and singing. Thompson likes all kinds of music. He listens to almost anything from country to heavy metal all depending on the mood that he is in at present.
A lot can be learned from him, not only does he have to ability to make things positive, but he has great confidence. “No way I’m changing anything about myself. I don’t want to sound cocky, I just like the way I am.” If only more people could truly be happy with who they are.
This is his last year and he isn’t sure where he is headed after his departure from CEU. Whatever Thompson does he will be sure to be successful. He does know one thing for sure, “I want to be a basketball player when I grow up!”
