Do you need information for an upcoming research paper? Do you need to have research resources from something other than the Internet? If you answered yes to either of these questions then the CEU Library home page is the place for you!
The CEU Library has a collection of subscription databases for use by all students, faculty and staff. This collection is known as Academic Pioneer. A direct link to Academic Pioneer can be found on the library home page at: www.ceu.edu/library/.
The databases available through Academic Pioneer provide electronic access to thousands of full text articles in all areas. Do you need information on a current event? The subscription database known as CQ Researcher has hundreds of full text articles on current events. Maybe you need an article on a health related issue such as Diabetes or Heart Disease.
Our medical related databases have hundreds of recent articles on both these topics. We have databases that cover topics related to mechanics, medicine, politics, philosophy and so much more!
Academic Pioneer also provides citations and abstracts for several thousand more articles. Many if not most of these article abstracts may be ordered for a nominal fee through the library’s Interlibrary Loan process or ILL. A direct link to order an ILL is found on the library home page under Request Forms or by clicking on: www.ceu.edu/library/loan.aspx.
As students your tuition helps pay to make this information available to you for free. Often on the Internet there is a monetary charge in order to gain access to an article.
Students may also gain access to Academic Pioneer when off campus by clicking on the Off-campus Electronic Book and Database Access link. Students must use their student C-number and personal password (the one used for lab or wireless laptop access). If you do not have a password you will need to set one up while on campus or by calling the CEU IT department at 435-613-4357 during normal business hours (8am-5pm Monday-Friday).
