Eagle Frenzy: a great way to rock around the clock

Have any plans for April 15 and 16? If so, cancel them because USU-Eastern campus has something awesome going on. The Eagle Frenzy is what I’m talking about. This is a first and something you should not miss out on. It is starting on April 15 at 9 p.m. and doesn’t end until 4 a.m.

Many activities and prizes are being offered throughout the night. Students can purchase their tickets at the scholarship and admissions office on the second floor of the Jennifer Levitt Student Center before the event for $5 with your USU-Eastern ID card and $10 without. The tickets include a one-inch-wide wrist band which will tell who has and has not paid. You can also get them at the door for $10 with student ID and $15 without.
According to event organizer, Wilford Woodruff, the first of many activities will blow your mind. Does the name Sean Bott sound familiar? You may have seen him on campus before. He’s been here twice and says he loves it here. He is a mentalist and does crazy tricks and many other things that will have you wondering. Other than the show he is performing, he will be going around campus after his show doing tricks like David Blain or Chris Angel throughout the night.
Following Bott’s show will be a man named Bruce McDonald. As if your mind has not taken enough tricks, it won’t matter because McDonald is here to take your mind over. Literally, he is a hypnotist. He was brought to USU-Eastern last semester. He does entertainment shows and seminars for stress reduction and relaxation for many colleges. With how popular it was at the beginning of the semester, student government decided it would be a great idea to bring him back.
If you aren’t impressed, no need to worry. There will be plenty of activities to keep you busy throughout the night, one being bouncy toys. And who doesn’t enjoy things that bounce? There will be obstacle courses and bungee runs to challenge your friends. With your admission comes free food. If that doesn’t change your mind about coming, what will? There will be hot dogs, chips, IBC soda and soft-serve ice cream offered in the cafeteria.
Challenging your friends in video games is always fun, so student government scheduled another opportunity to be the victor with the Game Hub Video Game Tournament. Games include Halo 3: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Super Smash Mario Bros: Brawl. Prizes are being given to those who win in any of the tournaments. These aren’t modest prizes either. How would you like to be the owner of a brand new Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360? Cool right?
Not a video gamer? That’s all right, you can try your luck at gambling. In the student center, student government is hosting another Casino Night. Prizes aren’t set in stone, but there is word about an HD flat screen TV being offered to the winner. How many of you are stuck watching a “postage stamp” TV? I bet that would be nice to change.
As if all that wasn’t enough, live music will be playing at the BDAC. Right now the band is scheduled to be Imagine Dragons, an indie/pop group. Although there may be problems with them getting here, student government has high hopes. If so, they are in the process of looking for other bands to play that night.
So much fun seems like it will never end, but 4 a.m. is the cut off for all activities. Before everyone gets too tired, students get to go out with a bang. Another Lite Brite is going down. End the night with music, paint and dancing in the SAC. Don’t forget to wear your white. An added idea that would be an excellent idea is to bring a couple extra dollars to purchase water, we all know how hot the last dance got.
So have you decided to go yet? If not, you will miss out on the biggest and best activities USU-Eastern has ever done this year. Student government wants everyone to come and have an entertaining, enjoyable, electrifying night.
