Ambassadors going full throttle in recruiting

For quite a few years now USU Eastern, or what was known as CEU not long ago, has been helped greatly by the efforts of student ambassadors. Many have heard of the ambassadors but few know exactly who they are or what they do.
Currently on the USU Eastern Ambassador team are twenty students who balance their time between class, life and their ambassador responsibilities.
In a recent conversation with Lauren Arnold a second-year ambassador she explained the purpose of the ambassadors. “The purpose is to not only recruit but also to reach out to new and perspective students helping the retention, when there is a new student he may not know any other students, but they will know us,” said Arnold. Their job seems tedious with many things to do like giving tours of the campus to those visiting, contacting seniors in high school and informing them of what USU Eastern offers, and organize high school senior activity days called “ Eagle Experiences”, and many other things that pertain to recruitment and retention.
When asked about their jobs and responsibilities Estephania Flores commented that “it doesn’t feel like a job” adding that she finds joy in working with people and making new friends.
With the recent re-structuring of student services the ambassadors find themselves with even more load to carry, with less help to carry it all. With all the changes, the ambassadors are still positive and hopeful about the future recruitment for USU Eastern.
In recent meetings the ambassadors have come together with renewed vigor to make a difference.
They are promoting a new way to recruit new students through faculty, staff and students. They will be asking all faculty, staff and students for references of friends or family to personally contact them and invite them to visit the campus of USU Eastern, and taking any ideas on recruiting.
