Nield named Player of the week

Utah State Eastern freshman guard Blaze Nield has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

The Lehi, Utah native led the Eagles to a 76-75 win over #13 College of Southern Idaho on Saturday.

Nield scored a team-high 23 points while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out five assists.

This is the second time Nield has earned conference player of the week honors this season.

He currently is averaging 21.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.6 per game through 20 games this season.

Nield and the Eagles are currently 14-6 overall and 2-0 in the SWAC standings which is good enough for first place.

The Eagles will travel to nationally-ranked Salt Lake Community College this Thursday with tip off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
