USU Eastern’s Art 2070 class exhibited its work throughout spring 2019 under the direction of Jason Huntzinger.
After spending time discussing the composition basic: line, shape, texture and color, and observing light in photography, the class used the architecture of the CIB building as the subject. āThe interior is a great study for isolating the elements of its design to create a photographic composition,ā Huntzinger said.
The studentās photography work, called āArt in Architecture,ā is displayed in the hallway outside of Gallery East in the CIB building and will be displayed through the end of the spring semester.
āWe also participated in a pop-up show at USU Eastern and art professor Christopher Kanyusikās building in Helper was used as part of the Helper First Friday celebration in April. The theme was āHelper Main Street.āā
Exhibitions are a good lesson because they are about process, from idea to the finished piece or product, which can be translated to many areas in life. Hopefully it is also satisfying for the students to see their work displayed, he said.
āThere have been some excellent photographs produced this semester and most of the class seems to [be] having a lot of fun, he said. Some of the photographs are exhibited in the student art show open which is open until April 26 in Gallery East.
