Eagles win one, lose one and tie one

The Utah State University Eastern mens cocker team remains tied for fourth place in the conference as they closed out their final home game on Oct. 12.

            Salt Lake Community College leads the conference with a 9-0 record, followed by Snow 4-3-1, Truckee Meadows 3-4-2, College of Southern Nevada 2-3-3, USUE 2-3-3 and Colorado Northwestern 0-7-1.

            The Eagles are currently tied for fourth place with the College of Southern Nevada with an overall record of 4-3-5 and a conference record of 2-3-3.

USUE ties TMCC

The Utah State University Eastern mens soccer team tied 2-2 with Truckee Meadows Community College on Oct. 3, in Price, Utah. 

The Eagles scored one point in the first half while TMCC scored none. Kellen Burke, assisted by Guillermo Perez-Lope, found the back of the net, getting the Eagles their first goal of the game. 

In the second half, the TMCC Lizards scored two points on USUE. Alahandro Fernandez assisted by Talmage Woodhouse, found the back of the net to tie up the game 2-2. 

USUE had 15 shots while TMCC had nine. USUE and TMCC had an equal amount of saves, with four saves each. USUE had 14 fouls and TMCC had 17. Jason Gilliland got a yellow card, the only player to get one.

USUE loses to SLCC

USUE lost 3-2 against Salt Lake Community College on Oct. 5, in Price, Utah. It would become their third loss of the season.

In the first half, the SLCC Bruins scored the first goal of the game. Not long after, Woodhouse, assisted by Burke, found the back of the net to tie the first half 1-1.

In the second half, the Bruins scored two goals. Keith Carter, assisted by Woodhouse, found the back of the net to get the Eagles another point, but they unfortunately were no match for the Bruins.

USUE had seven shots while SLCC more than doubled with 16. The Eagles had five saves and the Bruins had two. Both USUE and SLCC had 12 fouls. The Eagles’ Jorge Segura and Kundra Kampeshi each got a yellow card during the game.

            The Eagles beat the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans 4-0 on Oct. 12, in Price, Utah, earning them the fourth win of the season. 

            In the first half, neither team scored any points. In the second half, however, Bowen Wyminga, Hector Galena-Cruz, Burke and Nick Miszcyk each found the back of the net once to give the Eagles their 4-0 vicorty over CNCC.

            USUE had 15 shots while CNCC had three. USUE had zero saves while CNCC had five. The Eagles had eight fouls and CNCC posted 13.
