Eastern ended up 10th in the nation, falling on the final day to New Mexico Military 3-1. The other Scenic Western Athletic Conference team at nationals, Salt Lake Community College, finished fifth in the nation when the defeated Western Nebraska 3-2. The Bruin’s sophomore setter, Laura Fiabane, was named to the All-Tourney Team. The tournament was won by Florida’s Southwestern who defeated Miami Dade 3-1. SLCC lost to Miami Dade in the quater finals 3-1. In a surprise announcement, USU Eastern women’s volleyball received the only additional tournament honor tonight receiving the Tournament Sportsmanship Award from the NJCAA.
