Lady Eagles keep things rolling

Eastern has won three straight, and eight of their last ten, as they make a push to become conference champions.

The Lady Eagles were back in action taking on CSN in a home matchup. The Eagles were too much for CSN as they outscored them in all four quarters. Taking a 30-21 lead into half, USUE did not take their foot of the gas outscoring them 45-20 in the second half, leading to a 75-41 victory. Leading the charge for the Eagles was Brooklyn Palmer, putting up 24 points and pulling down 7 rebounds. Brinlee McRae was also in double figures scoring 13 points. The Eagles were dominant on the glass out rebounding the Coyotes 60-30. Hadley Humphreys led the team in rebounds with 10. They passed the ball well having 24 assists with the leader Gaby Goo having four and three others right behind her with three.

Next up, the Eagles hosted Snow College on fan appreciation night. They did not let fans down as they blew out Snow, 60-40. They once again outscored their opponent in every quarter taking out all hope for the visitors. Brooklyn Palmer had another big night scoring 12 points along with 12 rebounds. The Eagles assisted on 23 of their baskets, led by Maci Wall and Teagan Gray both of which had five. The Eagles outmatched Snow statistically bringing in more rebounds and more assists. Defensively, they held Snow to 26.2% from the field and 23.1% from three. They also forced 17 turnovers making for a good night defensively from the Eagles. 

“We are finding our stride at the right time,” said head coach Chelsey Warburton. “We need some help for a regular season conference title, but we can do our part by keeping the momentum we have.”

They take on Colorado Northwestern in Rangely next Thursday, who they beat by a score of 89-51 earlier in the year. After that, they have another big game against Snow College on Saturday in Ephraim. They have beaten Snow twice this season by scores of 75-54 and 60-40. They will be looking for a regular season sweep of the Badgers.
