During the summer months, when few students attend CEU, the campus is occupied with students participating in its summer high school and college camps. For the last 30 years, CEU has hosted summer camps of all kinds to both high school and university-level students. Coach Dave Paur remembers when former athletic director and men’s basketball coach Curt Jensen was the first college coach to offer basketball camps to state of Utah high schools in the ’70s. He brought a team up from California to attend the week-long camp.

Basketball: the United States are playing in the Olympic-qualifying tournament this weekend. They are 3-0 so far in the tournament with one game remaining in the first round. The United States most recently routed the Virgin Islands 113-55 despite the fact that Tim Duncan elected not to play against his native country (the Virgin Islands).
Who would have thought that someone who attended volleyball tryouts as a high school freshman, just because she was bored and thought it looked like fun would one day receive a scholarship to play at college? Amy Fluckiger “Fluke” as her teammates call her, from Logan, Utah, started in just that way.
The CEU baseball team has a new baseball coach this year. Scott Madsen, 24, has taken over this position from his older brother, Eric Madsen.
Scott was the pitching coach for the Eagles the last four seasons and said that he is excited and anxious to get the season started as the new head coach. Scott also pitched for the CEU baseball team in the 97-98 season and then again in the 98-99 season.
Coach Madsen said that the team looked very strong this year as he had eight sophomores coming back from last season and 28 freshmen coming into the program.
