ASCEU to hold elections for four officials

The primary elections of the executive council for the Associated Students of the College of Eastern Utah are March 22-23, with the general election March 29. Four executive positions are available including president, executive vice president, activities vice president and senate vice president. In order to run for an ASCEU office, you have to be a student at CEU, be a full-time student and have a cumulative 2.7 GPA.

The primary elections of the executive council for the Associated Students of the College of Eastern Utah are March 22-23, with the general election March 29. Four executive positions are available including president, executive vice president, activities vice president and senate vice president. In order to run for an ASCEU office, you have to be a student at CEU, be a full-time student and have a cumulative 2.7 GPA.
The vice president of the senate oversees academic senate, which has six senators from different departments on campus. They run the senate meetings once a week and deal with academic issues or faculty issues. The senators are not a part of ASCEU leadership but the ASCEU vice president of senate is.
The vice president of activities has five chairs underneath them. All student activities are overseen by this position. They also schedule student activities on campus and are a voting member of the executive board.
The ICC vice president is in charge of the campus clubs and have three chairs underneath them. They run the club presidents meeting and also coordinate different activities on campus such as “Mr. CEU” or “Survivor” as well as being a voting member of the executive board.
The executive vice president is in charge of all student-life issues and have four chairs underneath them. They deal with residential life, food services, multicultural/international students as well as public relations. If the ASCEU president is ever absent or is unable is unable to continue as president, the vice president will take his/her place.
The president of ASCEU oversees all of student government, is a member of the college senate and the board of trustees. They represent the school on a state-level at student body president’s meetings. They work with lobbying for CEU as well as pushing for student-centered initiatives.
