Catching up with Olivia Fowler

After seeing the volleyball team practice in the BDAC a few weeks ago, I wanted to see how they felt about next season and what they are working on right now. Olivia Fowler was kind enough to sit down with me in the student center Monday for a few questions. I hope to catch up with the other returning players in the near future.
SF: So Olivia … how many guys at CEU have a crush on you?

OF: Oh, probably five that I know of.

SF: Does that include me?

OF: You have a crush on me?

SF: Any guy with a pulse has a crush on you.

OF: Oh, probably five that I know of.

OF: You have a crush on me?

SF: Any guy with a pulse has a crush on you.

SF: What are you guys doing right now to get ready for next season?

OF: We are working on our game skills and conditioning three hours a day, four days a week.

SF: What is the difference between this year’s team and next year’s team?

OF: I think we have a better attitude. I think we will work better as a team overall.

SF: Coach Brent Martindale told me he is requiring you guys work on volleyball three hours a day, five days a week during the off-season. Is that true, and is that something you can and will do?

OF: It’s going to be hard, but I am going to do the best I can.

SF: How many conference matches are you guys going to win next year?

OF: I promise at least one conference win.

SF: I am holding you to that Olivia. Anything new in your game plan?

OF: We are working on set plays. We haven’t used set plays before. It’s more to remember, but I think it will benefit us.

SF: What are your academic goals?

OF: I am planning on being a nurse.

SF: What are you doing this summer?

OF: I am going to visit friends in California and Oregon. And then my family is moving to Ogden so I will stay with them for the rest of the summer. I am also trying to get a job at IHOP in the Ogden area. And then it’s back to CEU in the fall.
Note: Pancakes in Ogden this summer anyone? I’m driving. Thanks Olivia, and good luck.
