With the new school year, there comes a new student government. With these new people in student government comes a lot of new ideas to the table. President Emily Dunn is exited for some of the things that the new council members will bring to the student body.
The ASCEU  members for the 2007-2008 school year were elected spring semester while others were recently appointed. The executive board members include: President Emilie Dunn,  Administrative Assistant   Allison Jarrett,  Vice President of Finance   Kamber Jensen,  Student Advocate   Dallas Nield, Student Life Council Executive Vice President Aaron Atwood, Non-Traditional Chair  Emily Doxey, Public Relations Chair Savannah Winn,  Multicultural Chair Open, Residential Life Chair  Tammy Erickson, Inter-club Council ICC VP Emily McRae,    ICC Recruitment Chair Kellie Peeczuh, Intramural Chair Keith Hughes, ICC Publicity Chair Courtney Trujillo, Activities Council Activities VP Carol Thompson, Special Events Chair Erin Brinton, Entertainment Chair Chelsea Pendleton, Recreation Chair  Kindra Romney, Golden Eagle Chair  Riley Spears,  Publicity Chair Cami Cox
This year’s student government members held a meeting on August 23 to discuss making this year one that everyone will remember. In order to   do this, there was one major topic that needed to be resolved. This was to either change the game room in the student center into a lounge area, or to keep it a game area. All the members of the executive board went to their classes and asked some questions about what the student body would rather have. After talking about what the students wanted and what would be the better use of the room, ASCEU members voted. With an anonymous vote, they decided to keep the game room but make it a lot better with either new games or anything the students would like.
Other topics discussed include the activities council has been planning some big activities for the year. Some of them are bringing Midnight to 12 to campus again, which was a huge hit last year, and the Light Bright dance. They would also like to promote the idea of True Blue CEU Fridays where everyone wears either blue or CEU apparel every Friday.
If anyone has any questions with anything going on campus, a member of ASCEU should be either at the booth or in the office and are always open to anyone, ASCEU is for the students and their needs, so don’t be shy, tell them your opinions.
