Weekend in Price doesn’t always mean apartment, movie, Wal-Mart

I moved to Price from Utah Valley, and at first glance, there did not seem to be a lot to do. Where could I go Friday night that’s fun? I did not want to spend my free time hanging out at Wal-Mart. Luckily for me, some of my roommates had already discovered some truly interesting and fun activities for us to do.
Many of you have probably heard of The Trestle. The Trestle, for those of you who do not know, is the highest train track in the United States. Some people like to go just so they can say they have been. Others like to go and just hang out. Once there you can walk across the bridge, which can be pretty scary. Most of the way, it is just the tracks with nothing below you but air. There are a few view point places where you can stop and take pictures.
“The best time to go to the Trestle is at night. It’s much scarier,” Danielle Christensen said.
The only thing you have to worry about out now is getting there. Do not try and take a little car; you will get stuck. You will need to find a friend who owns an old truck that’s okay to get dirty. If it’s rained recently, you might want to go mud bogging. Mud bogging is where you go out into the hills and drive through the mud puddles. It does not sound like much fun, but if your group of friends is hyper, it can be a blast. Make sure you dress in clothes that you do not care about, because if the truck gets stuck, you will have to get out and push.
If you feel daring, there is another thing you could do. If you have an old boat, bathtub, couch, or anything else just sitting around, drive into the foothills. Use the same truck you used to go mud bogging and chain the boat or bathtub or whatever to the truck, and go for a ride. If you are feeling adventurous, you can “rock the boat,” but if not, just sit back and enjoy the ride. “It was as scary as heck, but I loved the adrenaline rush, baby,” Noelle Johnson commented.
If you are going to do this, though, make sure you throw away the boat, bathtub, or whatever, in a proper place. Also, remember to be careful, because you can hurt yourself if you are reckless.
Have you ever played Fugitive? Get a bunch of your friends together, because the bigger the teams, the more fun it will be. Then you need to figure out a starting and ending point. One team starts off with four people in two different cars. They give everyone else about five to ten minutes head start to get to the ending destination, and then they go after them. If you are in the car and you see someone, pull over, jump out, and tackle them. Then they have to get in the car with you, and off you go to find someone else. If you get to the ending point without getting caught, you win.
Then there are night games. You could play a normal game like hide-and-go-seek, or you could spice it up and play sardines. Sardines is hide-and-go-seek, but backwards. One person hides and everyone else tries to find that one person. When you find the person hiding, you hide with them, and whoever is the last searcher, they are it.
Another night game you could play is Steal the Flag. You could play it just around your apartment, or you could make it bigger. Why not try the whole campus? Or go to a park to play.
Something that might be fun is using glow sticks for your flags. You can see the flags, but then it is even harder to get them because the teams are more on their guard.
There are a lot of other things that you can do, like a barbeque, or going to a park and having a picnic. You could go rent a movie from the library and have popcorn and snacks with your friends while you have a movie night. Games nights are always fun too.
These are just a few fun activities that you could do. Be creative and come up with your own fun activities.
Do not just sit around and wishing that there was something fun to do. You need to invent your own entertainment. Just be careful, safe and don’t go breaking any laws.
