Throughout the year representatives from several Utah colleges and universities visit CEU to speak to students planning to transfer. CEU’s counseling department takes students on trips to visit other colleges and universities in the state.
To go on trips students pay a $2 refundable deposit to reserve a seat in a van. Unofficial transcripts are provided for students to show advisors at other schools. While at the college or university, students meet with departmental advisors, tour campuses, get scholarship and financial aid information and receive information about the requirements needed to transfer.
For more information on these trips students need to go to the Student Support Services office in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center and speak with one of the counselors available. Students can also call SSS at 613-5480.
Last semester SSS took trips to the University of Utah and Southern Utah University. There was a trip planned to go to Weber State University and Utah Valley State College this semester that was cancelled because no one signed up.
Last week SUU and WSU set up recruiting tables in the JLSC. While here, SUU offered to hold a transfer orientation for students from CEU planning on going there next fall.
Utah State University will have a representative in the JLSC on February 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The representative will answer questions and have information on admissions, scholarships, financial aid and housing.
The University of Utah will hold an orientation at CEU on February 14 and March 8 with information on admissions, housing and registration.
SSS is also planning a trip to USU on February 10. A van will leave CEU at 7:30 a.m. and return at 7 p.m. Student who wish to attend need to sign up and pay their $2 deposit in the SSS office.
